Big Cheers for the Super Authors

Today was our first Writing Celebration.  Our wonderful authors wrote a few pieces of writing.  As authors do, they added more to the pictures, they added more to the words and they stretched their stories into a few pages.  We spent some time talking about ideas and how we get them.  Most of our stories are personal narratives, something that happened to them.  Others shared about things they like and their pets.  Then we chose one piece to "fancy it up".  We went back and added more details to the pictures and words and added a cover with title and author.  Now it was time to SHARE our wonderful stories.  We invited Mr. Schunk and Ms. Jo to be our guests of honor and they were sooo impressed!  Wow, the stories were great.  We listened to each other carefully and made some nice compliments.  Then at the end, we toasted to our success and for being amazing authors.  We had hot chocolate and cookies!  Yum!!  What a great way to celebrate our writing!  Way to go, Authors!!

Check out more pictures of our celebration!
